Description of Interests

Dr. Wang is a board certified pediatrician and a molecular epidemiologist whose work unites molecular biology, population genetics, clinical medicine, and epidemiology and brings together investigators and health professionals from multiple disciplines. Her research has covered a broad scope of health issues ranging from adverse reproductive outcomes, child growth and development, allergy and respiratory health, and childhood precursors of adult diseases, including obesity and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Wang has authored and co-authored over 100 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and many of them appear in prestigious journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of American Medical Association, and Lancet. At present, Dr. Wang is the principal investigator of multiple large-scale molecular epidemiological studies funded by the National Institute of Health, with a particular focus on environmental factors, genetic variants, epigenomic alterations, and their interactions in adverse reproductive outcomes, food allergy and related conditions, and obesity and metabolic syndrome. Dr. Wang received her MD from Beijing Medical University in Beijing, China, and a master of public health from the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans. She also received a doctor of science degree from the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health in Baltimore.
